African American Cultural and Historical Museum of Washtenaw County
Focus on the Arts is a program of the Museum that spotlights the cultural contributions of the African American community
Collaborating partners include Kerrytown Concert House, Washtenaw Community College. Programs have featured local visual artists, writers, poets, musicians, vocal talent and performers including Athena Johnson and Ron Brooks.
In October 2021 the focus was on six African American artists with Washtenaw County roots: Painters: Earl Jaclson, Wanetta Jones, Dr. James P. Lee, Quilt artist: Karen L. Simpson and Moasaics by Gregory Sipp and Wasentha Young.
