About the event

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Ronnie and Gloria Peterson, the African American Cultural and Historical Museum of Washtenaw County (AACHM), and the Palm Leaf Club (PLC) will host the 2026  Black History Month Art Exhibition featuring local artists responding to the theme of UNITY.  This premiere event is an opportunity for you to showcase your art at Riverside Art Center in Ypsilanti from January 16 through February 28, 2026.

Entry: is open to artists residing in Washtenaw and surrounding counties. No entry fee is required; this is a juried show. Each artist may submit up to 3 pieces including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, fiber, sculpture, installation, and mixed media.  No previously submitted pieces.

Opening Reception: January 16, 2026, at Riverside Art Center, 6-8 pm
