About the event
Join us at the Library Park Plaza at YDL-Michigan on Saturday, September 26th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM for our Big Read Kickoff! Sponsored by the NEA Big Read, this vibrant, family-fun season launch explicitly honors our region's rich artistic and cultural heritage through a dynamic community celebration. In recognition of the America 250 milestone, this gathering invites us all to reflect together on 250 years of a community like ours and the evolution of liberty and community from the past to the present day. Come out to enjoy powerful live performances, inspiring guest speakers, an interactive local history display, a Book Party provided by Black Men Read, adult and youth book giveaways, and refreshments!
